Best way to induce dauer?

Hi all. I’m looking for a way to screen for suppressors of dauer phenotypes. I want to be able to induce constitutive dauer formation, but would prefer not to do so by genetic methods. Does anyone know of a way to make/buy dauer pheromone or otherwise get high numbers of dauers? Thanks, Adam.

so, genetics is not your favourite…but why are you ruling out using a dauer constitutive mutant as your starting point???

or if that suggestion sucks big time…how about quantifying (an assay) dauers formed by

elevated temperature?;
