i am trying out protocols for c elegans actin staining. some protocols tell you to snap freeze the worms while some fix the worms with paraformaldehyde before staining. Do the two methods have the same effect on worms?

I recommend that you read [the WormBook chapter on Immunohistochemistry](http://www.wormbook.org/chapters/www_immunohistochemistry/immunohistochemistry.html), which includes some discussion of freezing and paraformaldehyde.
