How to block ovulation?

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for ways to block ovulation in hermaphrodites (not fem worms), preferably physically, or at least without the use of mutants with sperm signalling defects.

I have heard of people ablating the spermatheca or sheath cells, but presumably these interfere with signalling.

Are there any other ways to block ovulation? For example by pushing the worm with a glass needle at the spermatheca? Or drug treatments?

wouldn’t mechanical deformation /drug treatments also alter signalling?

Does indomethacin block ovulation in C. elegans?
