Postdoc at MRC/Imperial College London

I’m looking for a postdoc to join our friendly group in a great environment
for worm research with two other worms labs on the same floor and many
others in London that we meet with regularly. Despite the recent Brexit
vote, London remains an exciting, international, and welcoming city.

MRC Postdoctoral Research Scientist

From £33,712 to £37,425 pa inclusive*

London, UK

Applications are invited for a 3-year postdoctoral research position in
the Behavioural Genomics group at the MRC Clinical Sciences Centre (CSC)
at the Hammersmith Hospital campus of Imperial College London.
The CSC provides an outstanding environment for interdisciplinary research
with excellent core support.

The Behavioural Genomics group is headed by Dr André Brown in the new
Integrative Biology section of the CSC. The group’s research is aimed at
understanding how genome variation affects behaviour in the nematode
worm C. elegans, with an emphasis on how automated imaging and
quantitative analysis can open new ways of exploring the genotype-phenotype
map.

We are looking for a highly-motivated and creative scientist who can take full
advantage of a next-generation worm tracking system to study the genetics
of complex behavioural traits and inter-individual variation. The successful
applicant must hold a PhD in a relevant discipline. Experience with C. elegans,
quantitative genetics, imaging, and/or machine learning are desirable but not
essential.

This is an MRC Postdoctoral Scientist role to support post-doctoral training and
help establish successful research scientists in their chosen field. During the
fellowship period we are committed to providing mentorship for career
development and improvement of communication skills. We also offer a highly
attractive benefits package including competitive salary and salary pension
scheme.
