The Bao lab at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is looking for a postdoctoral fellow in the area of computational and systems biology. Over the years we have established novel approaches for cell lineage based systematic single-cell analysis of development, using live imaging, automated cell tracking and quantitative phenotype analysis (see Cell 2014 156:359-72; Development 2013 140:3266-74). Recently, we have conducted a genome-wide study of conserved and essential genes in C. elegans. We have knocked down 200 genes by RNAi and imaged over 3,000 embryos throughout embryogenesis.
We are looking for a self-motivated individual to drive the next phase of data analysis in this project. Areas of interest include robustness of morphogenesis, mechanisms of developmental noise control by the cellular network, and integrated modeling. Specific projects can be tailored based on individual expertise and interest. Please email cover letter, CV, and contact information for three references to baoz@mskcc.org.
MSKCC provides strong support for postdoctoral fellows and their families, including competitive salary, housing, childcare and others (http://www.mskcc.org/mskcc/html/70849.cfm).
