A postdoctoral position is available in the Hinas lab at Uppsala University, Sweden for research concerning cell-cell transport of RNA in C. elegans. We recently showed that an endosome-associated protein, SID-5, is required for systemic RNAi (Hinas, Wright and Hunter, Current Biology, in press) and current research is focused on further elucidating the role of endosomes in RNA transport.
Funding in the form of a stipend is available for 12 months with the possibility of 12 months extension. To be eligible for this fellowship, applicants must have completed a PhD at a non-Swedish university/institute no more than 5 years ago and must not have spent more than 9 months in Sweden prior to the application.
Applicants should have a solid background in cell biology, molecular biology and/or genetics. C. elegans experience is a merit but not required. Strong written and oral English communication skills are required.
