Description
A postdoctoral position is available at the Center for Genomics and Systems Biology within the Department of Biology at New York University (http://biology.as.nyu.edu). The successful applicant will join Ercan laboratory, a new research group with a focus on understanding the role of chromatin in transcription, chromosome segregation and development. Current projects include, but are not limited to (1) mechanism of transcription repression by a condensin-like complex, (2) chromosomal targeting of condensins, (3) role of linker histones in development and aging. We use C. elegans as a model organism and perform genomic and biochemical experiments. This position is an exciting opportunity to perform research in the expanding field of epigenomics in a collaborative environment that houses experts in genomics, systems biology and developmental biology.
Qualification
The candidate should have a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics or a related field. Applications from individuals with experience in genomics, or C.elegans molecular biology are encouraged.
