Postdoctoral Position in San Miguel Lab

The San-Miguel Lab at North Carolina State University has an open position for a Postdoctoral Scholar to apply high-throughput high-content platforms to study susceptibility of different neuron types to aging, synapse loss, and neurodegeneration. This project hinges on engineering approaches for high-content quantitative imaging and phenotyping (microfluidics, computer vision, high-content data analysis). This project will involve the application of microfluidic high-throughput imaging platforms, optogenetic analysis, and the development of fluorescent reporter transgenic lines using CRISPR/Cas9 or traditional multigenic arrays.
Recent PhD graduates or candidates close to completion with knowledge of C. elegans or microfluidics are preferred. Knowledge about molecular biology, transgenesis, and image processing or machine learning is a plus but not required. This is a two year Postdoctoral appointment, subject to review after one year.
The lab (https://sanmiguel.wordpress.ncsu.edu/) is part of NCSU’s Synthetic and Systems Biology initiative (https://workthatmatters.ncsu.edu/synthetic-systems-biology/) and is housed in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering.
