Postdoctoral positions at the Fang-Yen lab at U Penn

Two postdoctoral positions are available in Christopher Fang-Yen’s lab in the Departments of Bioengineering and Neuroscience at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA, USA.

  1. Neural Circuits and Behavior. The candidate will use techniques for optogenetic manipulation of single cells in freely moving C. elegans to dissect the neural basis of behavior.

  2. Biology of Aging. The candidate will apply a novel technology developed in our lab for automated high-throughput measurements of aging phenotypes in C. elegans. Major goals include understanding the relationship between lifespan and healthspan, and genetic mechanisms of lifespan variability in isogenic populations.

Our laboratory places an emphasis on quantitative analysis of biological processes. However, candidates with backgrounds in either biology or physics/engineering/computation are encouraged to apply.

Both positions are externally funded for at least 4 years.

Candidates should email fangyen@seas.upenn.edu with a cover letter and CV including references.
