Postdoctoral research position at the University of Arizona

The Fares lab in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Arizona seeks candidates for Post-doctoral Research Associate I positions to study two projects:

  1. Mechanisms underlying the biogenesis of lysosomes using C. elegans and mammalian model systems.
  2. Pathways leading from the loss of CUP-5, orthologue of the Mucolipidosis type IV TRPML1 protein, to lysosomal defects and cell death.

Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
*Design and perform independent research experiments in collaboration with the PI.
*Manage the daily tasks associated with this project; including detailed record-keeping, assay and protocol development, data analysis.
*Participate in laboratory meetings and journal clubs.
*Communicate research in progress and completed studies through oral and/or poster presentations and the preparation of manuscripts for publication.
