Research Assistant position available

The Zinovyeva lab is seeking a research assistant for a full-time open position.

Our laboratory uses a variety of genetic, biochemical, and molecular approaches to understand microRNA-mediated regulation of gene expression.
We take advantage of the C. elegans model system to characterize the molecular mechanisms of microRNA biogenesis and function. We are
specifically interested in how microRNA strand selection is made in a complex context of the cell. We are also interested in characterizing how
microRNA function is modulated by the microRNAs’ cofactors.

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual with demonstrated ability to perform both independent and supervised research.

The multidisciplinary research approach will offer ample opportunities for a motivated, enthusiastic individual. Kansas State University is located
in Manhattan, a beautiful college town nestled against the Flint Hills in Kansas. Manhattan was recently rated by Forbes to be third in the list of
best small places for careers. Similarly, the University has been rated by Business Insider to be in the Top 20 best college campuses in the nation.
The position provides full benefits.

Qualifications:
A B.S in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field. Prior laboratory experience with molecular, genetic, and/or biochemical
approaches is required. Strong organizational skills and enthusiasm for the research are a must. In addition, the ideal candidate will work both
independently and as part of a team and will provide both intellectual and technical input on the projects.

Preferred qualifications:
MS or extensive research experience. Familiarity with use of eukaryotic genetic model systems in research is a plus.

How to Apply:
Please e-mail a cover letter, CV, and contact information for three references to biology@ksu.edu, with the subject line that includes your name
and the phrase “Zinovyeva lab research assistant application.” Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is
filled. Salary will be commensurate with experience. Start date is flexible.
