Research Associate position at the University of Miami, Florida

A research associate position is available in the Collins Lab in the Biology Department at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida.

Our multi-disciplinary research group is studying how external and internal signals modulate neural circuit activity to drive distinct behavior states in the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans. We use optogenetics, calcium imaging, and neurotransmitter signaling mutants to understand how neural circuits control animal reproductive behaviors.

The ideal candidate must have a B.A. or B.S. in Biology or related field, strong organizational skills, and prior training in microbiology, molecular genetics, or neuroscience. Responsibilities include lab organization, preparation of shared reagents and media, and an independent research project. Prior experience with C. elegans is not required.
