The Prahlad laboratory is a new laboratory that uses C. elegans to study how the nervous system controls cellular stress responses. We are looking for a Research Assistant who will
a) perform various research procedures in C. elegans neurobiology, cell biology, molecular biology and genetics
b) interact with and help train graduate students.
c) order and organize lab supplies and equipment, keep records and maintain databases.

Minimum Qualifications:
Basic computer skills and a Bachelor’s degree in biology and/or chemistry are required. Additional training for the necessary skills will be provided as needed. Experience in molecular biology or C.elegans biology, including cloning and construction of transgenic lines is desirable. Most importantly, we are looking for a person who can demonstrate his/her keen interest in science and problem-solving, who is observant, responsible, thoughtful, patient, and has good inter-personal skills.

Start date:
August 15th (can be fairly flexible).
