Source for pBX and or pC1 vectors?

Hi,

I’m considering using the pha-1 mutant strain, GE24 (Granato, Schnabel & Schnabel, 1994) as the basis for my biolistic transformation experiments. I can get the strain from the CGC and in the aforementioned paper it seems that the CGC at some stage also held the two alternative rescue plasmids, pC1 and pBX.

My question: The CGC does not hold these (or any) plasmids anymore (or I’m being dumb and looking in the wrong place), does anyone know where I can get stabs of these plasmids? Any help would be most gratefully accepted and, of course, postage as well as delicacies from southern Germany would be available.

he can also give you more info on biolistic transformation.

Hi eric,

just got an email from Ralph regarding his helium gun and noticed that he was using pha-1/pBX!

So, thanks, will ask him if he has a stab (and perhaps the strain) available…it’s a bit closer to home…

Where do I send you the southern German delicacy?
