stem cells

hi,all
Have C. elegans only germline ? Not somatic stem cell or else?

thanks in advance

Seam cells are described as “stem-like”, as during development from L1 to adulthood they divide asymmetrically to give a non-seam cell and a cell which retains seam fate.

They stop dividing at late L4 though, at which point there are 16 seam cells in hermaphrodites, so I guess they are not true adult stem cells. They are still very useful in studying stem-like divisions.
