Tenure-track position in Molecular Genetics at UC Santa Cruz

The Molecular, Cell & Developmental Biology Department at the University of California Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in Molecular Genetics. We particularly encourage applicants who are addressing fundamental questions in epigenetics in mammalian systems including stem cells and developmental processes, are using state-of-the-art experimental approaches, have an outstanding record of research accomplishments, and complement the department’s existing strengths in stem cell biology, cancer, chromatin, and RNA. Candidates will be expected to establish a vigorous externally funded research program, contribute to the intellectual vitality of the UC Santa Cruz scientific community, teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels in the classroom and through mentorship, and provide service to the campus and their profession. UC Santa Cruz is a Hispanic-Serving Institution with a high proportion of first-in-family undergraduate students. We welcome candidates who understand the barriers facing women and minorities who are underrepresented in higher education careers (as evidenced by life experiences and educational background), and who have experience in equity and diversity with respect to teaching, mentoring, research, life experiences, or service towards building an equitable and diverse scholarly environment.
