4-year Postdoctoral Fellowship in Biophysics of Development
Applications are currently being accepted for a 4-year postdoctoral fellowship to commence in 2015 in the lab of Dr. Nathan Goehring.
Work in the Goehring Lab seeks to uncover the design principles that underlie developmental pattern-forming systems. The past decades have been tremendously successful in identifying key molecules involved in such pattern-forming systems, yet we are only beginning to understand how the collective activities of these molecules give rise to patterns at the cell and tissue scale. We are tackling this problem in the context of developmental cell polarity networks through multidisciplinary systems-level approaches that combine quantitative imaging, genetics, pharmacologic perturbation, and mathematical modelling.
Applicants from a wide variety of backgrounds are welcome to apply. An open-mind, willingness to work as part of a team and a desire to be a part of multi-disciplinary projects are strongly encouraged.
The position will be based within the new Francis Crick Institute in central London. The Crick will house over 100 research teams exploring all areas of biology related to human health and disease. Crick postdocs benefit from a highly multidisciplinary and collaborative environment and are supported by generous core facilities.
