Assistant/Associate Professor Position at Northeastern University, Boston, MA

The Department of Biology at Northeastern University, Boston, Massachusetts invites applications for a tenure-track appointment in Developmental Neurobiology or Regenerative Biology.  Specific areas of interest are either adult stem cells and their role in behavioral plasticity and/or tissue regeneration; or development of axons and/or axonal regeneration.   Although appointment at the assistant professor level is preferred, applications at the associate professor level will be considered for candidates with a particularly strong track record.  The anticipated start date is Fall 2012.  A competitive startup package will be provided. 

Responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses and conducting an independent, externally funded research program. The department has 33 full-time faculty members and administers programs in biology, biochemistry, and behavioral neuroscience for 1,200 undergraduates. It hosts 150 students in the Ph.D., Master’s, and Professional Master’s programs.

Applicants should have a doctorate and at least two years of post-doctoral experience in biology or a related field, and a strong record of publications and potential for external research funding.
