Assistant Professor in Model Organism Genetics - University of Alberta

The Department of Biological Sciences, University of Alberta, Canada, invite candidates to apply for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in Model Organism Genetics. Candidates with an excellent publication record and research expertise with genetically tractable eukaryotic model organisms (e.g., yeast, C. elegans, Drosophila, zebrafish) and a strong interest in undergraduate education are encouraged to apply. We are interested in candidates who study any aspects of cell, developmental, or molecular biology, and use diverse experimental approaches that integrate well with existing areas of Departmental expertise in model organism genetics specifically, and molecular and cellular biology broadly.
Applicants must hold a PhD in biological sciences or a related field and have a proven track record of leading-edge research. The successful candidate will develop an independent, original, and externally funded research programme. The candidate will be expected to supervise both graduate and undergraduate students and contribute to a vibrant department through teaching undergraduate and graduate courses.
