backcrossing strain - use of 4C

Just wondering whether its OK, if I need to temporarily slow the process, of shifting worms undergoing back-crossing to 4C. Would there be a best time to do this (I’m following the Koelle lab protocol)?

If you put the worms at 4C for more than a few hours, they will die. So I would not recommend you doing this during crosses.

You can use 8 deg C.
