I’m trying to find a short (<1kb) ‘promoter’ or intergenic sequence that would drive
strong, constitutive expression in many tissues in all/most larval stages. I have been
searching the promoter::gfp fusions in the expression database at the BC Genome
Science Centre and then scoring ‘strength’ by numbers of ESTs matching the
associated endogenous gene. Is this is a good strategy or is there an obvious candidate
I’ve not come across?
let-858?
eft-3? Short (~600 bp), reported to be strongly expressed throughout the soma.

Also works in the germ line.
