Hi, just wondering if there are cre reporter strains in worms as there are in mice?
I’m planning some tissue specific crelox and I am wondering if anyone has made a strain where they have a marker which goes on or off when cre recombinase is present.
I can’t seem to find this on the CGC, and since its quite a specific method thing pubmed/google hasn’t been too helpful in finding the papers.
We previously generated strains bearing the SCI of floxed Pdpy-30::nuclear localization signal::green fluorescent protein (NLS::GFP) transgenes (referred to as “floxed pan-NLS::GFP SCI”)
I’ve used the lox-stop-lox method quite a bit to get tissue specific expression of a fluorophore. A lot of the integrated Cres out there are leaky or not 100% penetrant so looking at fluorescence (+) is nice.
Thanks for the replies everyone, sorry its been ages and I never replied. The strains out there are useful but don’t quite suit my purposes. Many thanks for the help.
