Enviromental condition differences affect C.elegans susceptibility to infection?

Hi,

I m currently very interested to understand the differences of worm growing in different environment influence its susceptibility.

Tan et al. PNAS paper in 1999 ‘Pseudomonas aeruginosa killing of Caenorhabditis elegans used to identify P. aeruginosa virulence factors’ depicted the differences of PA killing ability in PGS & NGM.

Another paper by Gan et. al. 'Characterization of Burkholderia pseudomallei infection and identification of novel virulence factors using a Caenorhabditis elegans host system. 2002. Mol. Microbiol. 44(5): 1185-1197 has shown the vary of worms susceptibility towards the pathogens infection after exposing two different batches of worms grown on different media (PGS & NGM) for 3 days prior tested on bacterial grown in the NGM plate. They have even produced some support dismissing the possibility of osmolarity towards the worms.

Ques: Is there any papers or opinion/suggestion describing the possibility of C.elegans different susceptibility grown/expose to different medium? Thanks

Sunny ;D
