Eppendorf Patchman NP2 vs Injectman NI2 equipment for C. elegans injection

Dear worm fellows

I will appreciate to know whether anyone has compared the efficiency of Eppendorf Patchman NP2 versus the Injectman NI2 equipment for C. elegans injection

The price difference is about 3.000 euros and we want the equipment exclusively for C. elegans injection so we initially would go for a Patchman equipment unless someone advices us on the opposite.

Thank you very much in advance
Looking forward to your reply
All the best

We have not used the Eppendorf equipment but if you’re looking to set up a cheap injection system exclusively for worms I highly
recommend the system offered by Tritech Research (http://www.tritechresearch.com/cgi-bin/shop/minj.html) although I’m not sure
whether they will send supplies to Europe. They are also carry Narishige micromanipulators at competitive prices. The system
is basic but works very well.

I’d like to bump this thread to see whether anyone can answer this original question on the InjectMan NI 2 Micromanipulator versus the Patchman NP2 Micromanipulator. I have quotes for both…

I don’t have a lot of experience with microinjection, and the former is about $5k more expensive but I want to get the system that would be the easiest for people in the lab to quickly master and use routinely. We’ll be doing a fair bit of injection and I want to make it as painless as possible so I’m completely willing to spend the extra cash if it’s worth it.

Any thoughts would be most appreciated.
Thanks!
