We are glad to announce the launch of the European Hub for CGC strain distribution.
Since the pandemic, CGC shipments have become increasingly difficult to manage with higher costs, longer transit times, and more customs regulation. In an effort to improve strain distribution, the CGC with the support of two institutions in Spain – Centro de Investigaciones Principe Felipe (CIPF) and Instituto de Biomedicina de Valencia – has established a centralized European hub for receipt and distribution of strains.
How does ordering with EU Hub work?
Customers from EU-Schengen area countries can opt for this centralized distribution when placing an order, just by adding "EU hub distribution” and your VAT# (required) in the order notes during checkout. Your order will be placed through the CGC website and processed as usual. Each lab’s order will be packed in an individual small envelope for shipping. Multiple individual orders/envelopes will be combined into a single larger express courier shipment to the European Hub. The EU Hub will take care of clearing customs, receiving the combined express package, and sending your package to you by regular mail.
How much does it cost and how do I pay?
EU Hub will not charge any extra fees beyond recovering their courier and customs costs for each shipment. The costs will be shared among all orders distributed in that shipment.
If you opt to use the EU Hub you will receive two invoices, the usual one from CGC for the strains and another one from EU Hub for these costs.
