Excretory duct & pore-cell specific expression markers..?

WormMine doesn’t give any hits for genes expressed in either of these cells. Does anyone know of a gene(s) expressed in one or both but that is/are
non-expressed in the canal cell?

Are you sure you queried WormMine correctly?

ex. Templates → “Cell/Tissue → Expression” → enter in “Excretory Duct Cell”

Anyways, you can also look using just regular WormBase in the anatomy section and you get a nice overview if you just search with the cell you’re interested in,

Ok, thanks. In wormMine looks as though “excretory duct cell” not just “duct cell” works whilst socket rather than pore is recognized.

There is a Plin-48::GFP transgene out there (saIs14) that is a fate reporter for the excretory duct cell. But the lin-48 promoter wouldn’t work to express cDNAs in the duct cell precursor. You might want to check some recent papers by Meera Sundaram to look for other tools.
