Conference Summary

Since 1990, this important and unique conference continues to focus on the structure, replication, and segregation of chromosomes as well as cell cycle regulation using yeast model systems to understand genome maintenance and its link to disease.

The conference will bring together researchers investigating this field, serving as a critical vehicle for the dissemination of important findings, understanding recent technologies, and stimulating collaborations and connections among researchers. This is an outstanding venue for early-career researchers to present their work and network with leading scientists in the field.

Goals and Takeaways

· Acquire new insights into chromosome organization, duplication, stability, and segregation.
· Learn how multi-disciplinary approaches are being used to explore cell cycle control and maintain genome stability.
· Discover new genomics, high-throughput tools, technologies, and assays being developed using yeast models.
· Learn new discoveries in the evolutionary aspects of chromosome biology.
· Network with a diverse set of researchers, including leaders in the field, rising stars, and promising trainees.

Program Topics

· Chromatin and nuclear organization
· Cell cycle regulation
· Chromosome duplication
· Recombination and genome stability
· Genome evolution
· Telomeres and break repair
· Dynamics of chromosome structure
· Chromosome segregation mechanisms

Workshops

A Meet the Expert session is offered for trainees and junior faculty members to dine with experts in the field and receive career and scientific advice.

A Career Development Workshop, featuring a panel of experts, will be provided to give career advice to trainees and give practical guidance for professional development.
