Genetic map and chromosome organization of C. briggsae

It is my pleasure to announce the first peer-reviewed publication of the C. briggsae genetic map in today’s issue of PLoS Biology.

Hillier LW, Miller RD, Baird SE, Chinwalla A, Fulton LA, Koboldt DC, and Waterston RH. (2007) Comparison of C. elegans and C. briggsae Genome Sequences Reveals Extensive Conservation of Chromosome Organization and Synteny. PLoS Biol 5(7): e167

Along with our collaborators and under the guidance of the C. briggsae Genetic Map Advisory Group, we continue to refine the genetic map and develop other resources (genotypes, assays, etc.) to support C. briggsae’s utility as a model organism.
