In a new Nature Communications publication, Zhang et al. examine the incredibly diverse Poaceae family. By conducting phylogenomic and phylotranscriptomic analyses- including using GO- Zhang et al. identify whole-genome duplications (WGD) and including WGDs that are implicated in environmental adaptations or morphogenesis.
