Did you know we offer at-a-glance statistics for our releases?
GO changes all the time to reflect changes in our understanding of biology, changes in literature, and other reasons. We are constantly working to improve our ontology, annotations, and other products. Although the overall numbers of annotations or terms do not usually seem to change much, there can be a great deal of differences even between consecutive releases.
GO Release statistics are available for the current release and each release back to 2018-09-05. Did we mention they’re interactive? GO to the Gene Ontology Resource and hover over a bar in the “Changes in GO terms between releases” for an exact count!
