Hoechst 33342 or Hoechst 33258?

I want to do a cuticle permeability test but not clear whether to use Hoechst 33342 or Hoechst 33258? The former
is more cell permeable but both are cuticle-impermeable. Papers report using both in cuticle permeability assays.

I had a similar question when I did the assay. I chose Hoechst 33258 as both the Moribe tetraspanin paper and the Meli mlt-10 papers used it. Worked really well in my hands. My bus-8 control looked really similar to what Meli reported for their 33258 staining.
