I would like to purchase a needle puller, but I'm not sure which kind to get

For C. elegans injections, we have been making needles using the needle puller of a faraway lab (a discontinued Sutter P-87, which we like), but we would like to get our own puller.

The Sutter P-97 and P-1000 are out of our budget. We would like to spend $4K or less.

Can anybody tell me their experience with C. elegans injections with World Precision Instruments PUL-1000 or Narashige PC-100? Or do you have another instrument to recommend?

Thanks!

I like the Narashige. I use an old one that has survived many users.
Sometimes the fancier ones are more finicky (more down time while you
replace the filaments).
If you get the settings right you will have needles that have openings,
or need just a tap to start flowing.

Good luck!

Thank you for your response. It is good to get confirmation that the Narashige one will stand the test of time. I think we will get that one.
