inhibt the eggs to hatch or Staining the worms

Dear all,

I want to trace the 1-5 worms (L2, L4 or adults) transferred to a new plate after several days and investigate how long time it takes for pathogenic bacteria to kill the first originally transferred worms. After a while the eggs will hatch and it makes it impossible to trace/recognize the the first worms.

Is there a way to mark/stain the worm or prevent the eggs to hatch without affecting the normal biological processes in the adult worms?

Thanks a lot
Reza

If you have small numbers of worms, why not just transfer them to a new plate every ~ 1-2 days or so, like it’s done in many other experiments?

you might use FuDR to make worms sterile if it won’t affect your "main ‘’ assay.
