Job Description

This position will support the grant and service responsibilities for the NIH-funded MMRRC and the RRRC rodent repositories. The position requires a detail-oriented person who can perform hands on rodent colony work as well as relevant data entry. In addition to routine animal husbandry work, this position will also involve rodent breeding, weaning, sample collection, data entry and colony record maintenance. The position requires knowledge of and thorough compliance with all biosecurity measures that are critical for Resource Center operations.

Salary

Salary Range: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
GGS Grade: 006
University Title: Senior Research/Lab Technician

Shift

Monday - Friday with some scheduled weekend work necessary. 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

A minimum of 2 years of mouse and rat handling experience is required. BA/BS in life sciences or animal science is preferred. Knowledge of the Rodent Resource Centers is also preferred. Must possess excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, and be able to work individually and in a team setting.
