Microinjection: anything other than dried agarose pads..?

Starting injections again after a while. Just wondered if anyone uses anything other than dried agarose pads to mount the worms? I find the worms dry out very quickly irrespective of how much I ‘moisten’ them with my breath.

Maybe your pads are too thick?
Try this to make your pads:
Make up a melted solution of 0.4% agarose (in H20).
Pipette about 0.5 ml onto the middle of each coverslip.
Let dry overnight on the bench.
Try different concentrations of agarose to get different thicknesses.

Also, try using mid-stage adults since they are a bit bigger, easier to inject and don’t dry up so fast.
