Hi,

I’m wondering what microinjectors (Eppendorf Femtojet, Narishige IM-300, IM-31 or IM-9B)
and micromanipulators (Eppendorf NK-2, Narishige MMO-202ND + MMO-220A, MN-151 or Tritech MINJ-D) worm researchers prefer for gonad injection?
I would like to get the manual IM-9B, but am not sure if the volume control is fine enough.

Hi Karen,

We’ve been using the IM-31 system with the MMN-1 coarse manipulator and the MMO-202ND micromanipulator and it’s fantastic. It’s smooth and painless.
One thing that sucks though is that you need to use the proprietary needles sold by Narishige, and you need a special syringe to load these needles.
However, we have successfully used other needles by shoving the needle in snug (hehe) into the silicone gasket in the injection stylus and not fastening on the tip of the stylus.
