Location: Full time on-site position in Lubbock, TX
Overview: NemaLife Inc., a US corporation, is searching for a Project Scientist to join our growing team. We have developed an AI-assisted microfluidics-based screening pipeline that we want to automate and apply to diverse assays. The candidate will work at the intersection of the technology, business development department and the operations team. The primary responsibilities will be assay development and optimization for our current and future clients. The person will also help out the lab team with troubleshooting, training and if needed day-to-day operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop in vivo and molecular assays
- Manage the fluorescence imaging pipeline
- Develop and oversee lab SOPs
- Work with engineers to develop our microfluidics in vivo screening technology
- Supervise technicians and perform routine laboratory measurements
- Train new employees in lab procedures
- Contribute to scientific grants, manuscripts and marketing materials
- Occasionally represent the company at scientific conferences
- Train new academic clients and occasionally give on-site demonstrations for prospective customers
Requirements:
- Masters or Ph.D. degree
- At least 3 years hands on lab experience with C. elegans
- Fluorescence microscopy, basic analytical chemistry, PCR, qPCR, basic bioinformatics & biostatistics, RNAi, molecular cloning
- CRISPR and transgenics experience is preferred
- R, Matlab, python and biostatistics skills are preferred
- Microfluidics and lab automation experience is preferred
- Experience in transcriptomic and metabolomic assays is preferred
