Ph.D. and Postoctoral positions available in Stavanger, Norway

Postdoctoral and Ph.D. positions are available in the Group of Dr. Maria Doitsidou, who is seeking to assemble a team of multidisciplinary investigators focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms of neurodegenerative disease. The lab is located at the Center for Organelelle Research (CORE) in Stavanger, Norway. We are currently recruiting highly motivated and enthusiastic Ph.D. and Postdoctoral researchers to engage in projects aimed at: a. identifying neuroprotective pathways and b. investigating the genetic basis of neuronal vulnerability. The available projects utilize C. elegans as a model organism, and employ versatile methodology, which includes genetic analysis and manipulation, molecular biology, microscopy, next generation sequencing and bioinformatics.

Requirements:
Ph.D. position: A master’s degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics or related field, prior research experience, very high organizational skills. Familiarity with C. elegans model organism is highly desirable but not necessary. Skills in Bioinformatics will be a plus.
Postdoc position: A Ph.D. degree in genetics, neurobiology, cell biology or related field and a proven scientific track record.
