PhD position available @ the Oren-Suissa lab, the development of sex-specific neuronal features

a fully-funded PhD position within the prestigious Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Doctoral Network “NERVSPAN” (NERVSPAN - European doctoral network ETN Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions). We seek a highly motivated and talented candidate to join our team and work on an exciting interdisciplinary research project.

The Oren-Suissa lab investigates how sexually dimorphic patterns in the brain emerge, from synapse formation to animal behavior. Sexual dimorphisms in brain structure and function are evident across phylogeny, but little is known about sexually dimorphic features of individual neurons and the mechanisms for the establishment and maintenance of dimorphic neuronal circuits. The Weizmann Institute of Science (WIS) is one of the world’s leading multidisciplinary research institutions.

As a doctoral candidate within the NERVSPAN network, you will have the opportunity to work with leading academics and industrial partners from across Europe, gaining valuable experience in international collaboration and cutting-edge research. You will also benefit from a comprehensive training program that includes workshops, courses, and secondments, all aimed at enhancing your research and professional skills.

We welcome applications from candidates who hold a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in life sciences, have excellent analytical and communication skills, and are passionate about research.

In return, we offer a competitive salary, including living allowances and mobility allowances, as well as the opportunity to work in a supportive, multidisciplinary, and dynamic research environment.
