A PhD position is available in the group of Dr. Britta Spanier at Technical University of Munich (www. wzw.tum.de/nutrition) at the Campus Weihenstephan (40 km north of Munich). Our group mainly focuses on the physiology and nutrient-uptake in the intestine using a broad spectrum of up-to-date molecular biological and “omics” techniques. The project is embedded in the PhD graduate school “Interface functions of the intestine between luminal factors and host signals” which is funded by the German (DFG) (www.grk1482.de). Doctoral students in the 3-year program will receive a monthly grant of €1.365 plus family and child care allowance, if applicable.
Candidates should hold a degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Nutritional Sciences or related fields with excellent academic qualifications. Experience in molecular genetics, cellular and molecular biology or microbiology will be appreciated. Worm and cell culture experience is helpful but not a prerequisite.
