Immediate opening at FHCRC in Seattle for recent undergraduate experienced in generating transgenic C. elegans by microinjection. In addition to making transgenic worms, person will work to the limits of their abilities with a small group now exuberantly developing a number of new biological technical capabilities. For that reason, although facility with construction of worm strains by microinjection is an absolute requirement, experience in DNA constructions, nucleic acid manipulation, and prokaryotic or eukaryotic genetic methods would be a plus. This is a time-limited position, lasting until summer 2014. It is likely to result in published work. It should be well suited for individuals interested in development of new biological methods, and who wish to go on to further work in graduate school, medical school, or positions in academic or industrial labs.
Interested individuals should write Cindy Bush, cbush@fhcrc.org describing experience with transgenic worm construction and naming one or more scientists for references.
