Associate scientist to study embryonic signaling and cell polarity
The Sokol laboratory at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York, is looking for a motivated postdoctoral fellow to join our group in the summer/fall of 2022. Our group studies how embryonic Wnt and planar cell polarity (PCP) signaling pathways regulate vertebrate gastrulation and neural tissue development. A successful candidate will use live cell imaging and genomic/proteomic approaches to study how signaling molecules and mechanical forces regulate cell movements in vertebrate embryos.
Our laboratory is in the Department of Cell, Developmental and Regenerative Biology, with a number of groups with highly collaborative, developmental and stem cell biology program. Besides high-quality research core facilities, career guidance and professional development training are provided for postdoctoral fellows.
Preference will be given to candidates with strong background in cell biology, biochemistry, genomics or bioinformatics. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
