Post-doc Position @ Scripps

Principal investigator: Michael Petrascheck, Scripps Research Institute
Position: The Petrascheck Lab is currently searching for a motivated postdoc interested in the regulation of aging and lifespan. The lab is part of the Department of Chemical Physiology at the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla California. We study aging by searching for molecules that increase lifespan and use those as tools to dissect the underlying mechanisms. Our approach integrates technologies from various disciplines like drug discovery, C.elegans neurobiology and mouse genetics and allows us to study novel aspects of aging of lifespan control. Several projects are available dependent on expertise and interest of the candidate. The Scripps Research Institute is a highly collaborative place that provides excellent individual career development opportunities and access to cutting edge technologies.
Requirements: You are about to complete your PhD or have completed your PhD within the last 3 years in genetics, neurobiology, chemical biology, molecular biology or a similar field. Your expertise lies in working with C.elegans. Prior experience in the field of aging is a plus but not required. You are expected to work independently, to reliably plan and execute experiments and to adjust to a highly flexible and interdisciplinary environment. Don’t forget to bring a sense of humor and adventure.

How to apply:
