Post-doctoral position in epigenetics and aging research at Cornell University

The Lee laboratory at the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics at Cornell University is seeking exceptional candidates for a Postdoctoral Fellow position. The position is available immediately and fully funded, but the successful applicant will apply for external fellowships as appropriate.

The Lee laboratory is broadly interested in elucidating the conserved molecular pathways that impact aging and longevity, and in understanding how these pathways contribute to age-dependent diseases. A major current focus of the lab is to understand the epigenetic mechanisms that affect aging in the model organism C. elegans (Genes Dev. 2015 Apr 1;29(7):718-31. PMID: 25838541; & Aging Cell. 2012 Apr;11(2):315-25. PMID: 22212395.)
Genetic, molecular, cell biological, and genomic approaches are employed to understand how the global chromatin and transcriptional landscapes change with aging, and how altered functions of specific chromatin and transcription factors influence the aging process.

Successful candidates must be highly motivated and independent, and have strong background in molecular biology. Previous training in C. elegans and/or genomic and computational approaches is preferred but not necessary.
