Post-doctoral position in the Gill Lab at Scripps Florida

A post-doctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr Matthew Gill in the Department of Metabolism & Aging at The Scripps Research Institute, Scripps Florida. Work in the lab is focused on characterizing signaling pathways in the nematode C. elegans that are involved in development and lifespan determination. This is being achieved by using an interdisciplinary approach combining genetic, genomic, biochemical and analytical chemistry approaches. The broader significance of this research is to further define the role of these signaling pathways in the etiology of aging and age-related disease and identify new targets for therapeutic intervention.
Requirements: The position requires a PhD in a related scientific discipline with experience and publications demonstrating expertise in any of the following areas: genetics, molecular biology, protein expression & purification, lipid analysis or cell culture. Experience working with C. elegans and / or a background in aging research would be preferred but is not required.
To be considered, please send a cover letter describing your research interests, your CV, copies of representative publications, and a list of three individuals that can serve as references to Dr. Matthew Gill, mgill@scripps.edu.
