Post-doctoral position to work on anoxia in C. elegans

A 3 year postdoctoral position is available immediately in the lab of Dr. Jean-Claude Martinou in the Department of Cell Biology at the university of Geneva,
Switzerland. The candidate will study in C. elegans the components that determine its resistance to anoxia (lack of oxygen). The candidate will capitalize on a study that has been initiated in the lab on this topic four years ago and that has provided interesting results, currently under publication.
These studies may help to understand resistance of cancer cells to anoxia, or on the contrary the sensitivity of neurons or cardiomyocytes to anoxia .
The candidate must have a strong CV and a strong background in C.elegans genetics.

Interested candidates should send CV, brief statement of their expertise and
contact information for three references to jean-claude.martinou@cellbio.unige.ch
