Postdoc at German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE Tuebingen)

A postdoctoral position is available in the “Protein Aggregation and Aging” group of Dr. Della David at the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) in Tübingen, Germany.
Our lab investigates the process of aging and neurodegeneration on a molecular level. We use C. elegans to study the mechanisms controlling protein homeostasis with age. Specifically, we aim to understand why proteins become unfolded with age and what the consequences for the organism are. Additional information can be found at http://www.dzne.de/en/sites/tuebingen/research-groups/david.html.
We are a small but growing lab and offer a strongly cooperative and supportive environment. We are looking for a highly enthusiastic candidate with a PhD and who has a proven track record of scientific achievement and strong training in molecular and cellular biology. The successful candidate will lead a project investigating factors which modulate inherent protein aggregation. Knowledge of biochemical techniques and microscopy imaging would be an advantage. Previous experience working with C. elegans is strongly desirable but not required. The applicant should have good interpersonal skills and be fluent in English. The earliest starting date is March 1st, 2016.
To apply, please send to della.david@dzne.de in one single PDF file: your CV, the contact details of three references, and a letter of motivation explaining the importance of your previous research and why you would like to join our lab.
