Postdoc at Washington University in St. Louis, virus-host interactions

A postdoctoral position is available in the Wang Laboratory at Washington University in St. Louis school of medicine. Projects focus on utilizing Orsay virus and C.elegans to define novel host pathways critical for virus infection. Prior genetic screens in our laboratory have identified a multiple genes that function in both C. elegans and mammalian cells to support virus infection (see Jiang H. et al, mBio, 2017; Jiang H. et al eLife, 2019; Jiang H. et al PNAS, 2020). In addition, we have discovered additional novel viral elements in nematodes (Richaud et al, PNAS 2019) and dissected transcriptional responses to virus infection (Chen et al BMC Genomics 2017; Sowa et al J Virology 2019). Current projects build upon this foundation to identify and characterize additional nematode viruses as well as genes critical for virus infection and host responses.

PhD in biology, biochemistry, genetics, virology or equivalent required.
