Postdoctoral position available in the Genetics Department at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey to study how post-translational modification of tubulins affects neuronal cytoskeletal structure, neuronal transport, neuronal polarity, and neuroregeneration of injured neurons. The project involves a combination of molecular genetics, microscopy and image analysis, cell biology, and behavioral analysis, in the nematode C. elegans, and will incorporate rodent models of spinal cord injury. Self-motivation and strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for this position.
Applicants should have recently completed (or soon to complete) a PhD in genetics, neuroscience, cell biology, or a related field, and have experience in molecular biology. Training in either C. elegans or rodent neuroscience is required. The position is available immediately. Laboratory is located on the Busch Campus of Rutgers University-New Brunswick, which is home to a large C. elegans/model organism research community and is accessible to NYC and Philadelphia.
Applicants should submit a letter of interest, resume/CV, and contact information for three references. Please e-mail inquiries to Research Associate Professor Robert O’Hagan ohagan@biology.rutgers.edu.
