Postdoc Position at UCLA (Hallem lab): Genomics of host-parasite interactions

A position is available immediately for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to study the genomics of host-parasite interactions. We study insect-parasitic and mammalian-parasitic nematodes as model systems. Our current research is focused on both how parasitic nematodes respond to host cues and how the host immune system responds to parasitic infection. We address these questions using genetic, genomic, molecular biological, and neurobiological approaches. More information about our research is available at http://www.hallemlab.com.

Applicants must have a PhD in biology, bioinformatics, or a related field. Experience with next-generation sequencing, genomic analysis, and basic molecular biology techniques is strongly preferred. Experience with C. elegans is also preferred. Interested applicants should submit their curriculum vitae and a brief statement of research interests to Elissa Hallem (ehallem@microbio.ucla.edu).
